Intermediate Combat


I already made on log regarding combat but I wanted to follow up on some more moves and systems.


Getting Hit

Previously you couldn't event get hit. This time around enemies can actually hit you and it gets visualized.

For all people who played hollow knight this seems somewhat familiar. I found there design of getting hit really great.

They actually stop time for a second when you get hit, this gives the player the oppertunity to see what they got hit by.


To make it even more cleary you have a broken glass effect and some particle effect making it look a bit nicer.

For the I-Frames you have a standart flickering effect.


New Attacks

I wanted the knight to have attacks in all compass directions. This gives the player pretty much all the freedom, where they want to position themselfes or in what direction to attack.

Up Attack


Down Attack

This attack is only avalabe when jumping.

The combat in this state still needs some kind of "Wow this is interesting" feeling. But for now I will leave it at nice and snappy.

I already have something interesting in mind to add to this system.
